Why is my AI Agent not active in NGAZE?

If an AI Agent shows as “Not Active” in NGAZE, it usually means the agent is available but missing a requirement needed to run. This is normal and fixable in most cases.

This article explains why agents are inactive, how to activate them, and what to expect once they’re running.

What You’re Seeing #

You may notice:

  • An agent labeled Not Active
  • An agent that was previously active but stopped
  • No alerts, insights, or outputs from an agent
  • Agents visible in the Automation Library but not producing results

Why This Happens (Most Common Reasons) #

1️⃣ Required Integrations Are Not Connected #

Most AI Agents depend on specific data sources.

Examples:

  • Reputation Agents → Google Business Profile
  • Website Agents → Website access, Analytics, Search Console
  • Campaign Agents → Ad platforms or social channels
  • Loyalty Agents → Customer or campaign data

If a required network is missing, the agent cannot run.

2️⃣ The Agent Has Not Been Activated #

Some agents are available by default but must be manually activated.

Until activation:

  • The agent will appear in the library
  • It will not monitor or produce output

3️⃣ Not Enough Data Yet #

New accounts or new locations may not have:

  • Sufficient historical data
  • Recent activity for the agent to analyze

In this case, the agent may remain inactive until data becomes available.

4️⃣ Permissions or Access Changed #

If access to a connected platform changes (for example, Google permissions are reduced or revoked):

  • The agent may stop running
  • The status may switch to Not Active

5️⃣ Agent Runs on a Schedule #

Some agents do not run continuously.

They may:

  • Run daily
  • Run weekly
  • Trigger only when conditions are met

This can make it appear like nothing is happening when the agent is actually waiting.

How to Fix It (Step-by-Step) #

✅ Step 1: Open the AI Agents Library #

Go to:
Agents → Marketing Agents (Automation Library)

Find the agent showing Not Active.

✅ Step 2: Check Required Integrations #

Go to:
Settings → Integrations

Confirm the required networks for that agent are:

  • Connected
  • Authorized correctly
  • Connected to the correct account or location

✅ Step 3: Activate the Agent (If Available) #

If the agent supports manual activation:

  • Click into the agent
  • Enable or activate it
  • Save any required settings

✅ Step 4: Allow Time for Processing #

After activation:

  • Allow 24–48 hours for the agent to begin running
  • Some agents require data history before output appears

✅ Step 5: Check the Correct Location #

For multi-location accounts:

  • Agents may be location-specific
  • Confirm you are viewing the correct restaurant location

What to Expect Once the Agent Is Active #

When an agent becomes active:

  • It begins monitoring its assigned data sources
  • Insights, alerts, or analyses appear gradually
  • Outputs may show in dashboards, notifications, or reports

Not all agents generate frequent alerts—some surface insights only when needed.

Important Things to Know #

  • An inactive agent does not mean something is broken
  • NGAZE does not run agents without valid data
  • Some agents remain quiet unless conditions are met
  • Activating too many agents at once is not recommended

Start with agents aligned to your current goals.

When to Contact Support #

Contact support if:

  • All required integrations are connected
  • The agent has been active for 48+ hours
  • No output appears and no errors are shown
  • The agent was active and stopped unexpectedly
